About Us
"Sheridans - The business of family"
Sheridan's Hard Rock Quarry is a family owned and operated business, established by Graham & Sonia Sheridan in 2011.
The main quarrying operation, at Hernani, is situated on farmland that has been in the Sheridan family for decades. The lands rich volcanic soil has fostered a history of potato and cattle farming and still operates as a cattle farm today.
Graham & Sonia's children, Toby and Abbey, are involved in the day to day operation of the business, bringing production, maintenance and engineering skills to the team. They share their parents passion and vision for the future of the business. With longevity at the forefront of their minds when planning ahead, they hope to keep the business in the family for many years to come.
Jamie Parker, our Logistics and Compliance Manager, brings a wealth of knoweledge and experience to the business with over 30 years of experience in Mining and Construction in roles such as mine manager, crew supervisor and trainer assessor to name a few. Jamie's role is pivotal and extremely valued by the Sheridan's Hard Rock team.
Sheridan's Hard Rock Quarry are proud to provide direct employment to over 20 people from the local region, and upwards of 40 local contractors may be engaged by the company at any time, providing crucial support to the business.
The quarrying process
The quarrying process involves the drilling, blasting and processing of hard rock to produce a range of products that are customised in size and shape to meet customer specifications. The range and quality of quarry products make Sheridan’s Hard Rock Quarry an ideal supplier to a wide range of applications including road building, construction concretes and ashphalts, landscaping and infrastructure projects.
Who do we service?
Our location, while remote, is centrally located between a number of council regions making it an ideal supplier for both local and regional projects.
We consistently supply projects in the surrounding Clarence, Armidale, Bellingen, Kempsey, Tamworth and Coffs Harbour council regions. We also cater for projects far more wide spread than our local region we have supplied projects as far as Newcastle, Moree, Sydney and Brisbane.
We deliver!
We have our own fleet of modern trucks and also proudly engage a number of local contractors, this ensures we can meet all of our customers needs.

To ensure we deliver quality products on time we have worked tirelessly to improve the productivity and logistics of our operation. We continuously engage with experts to identify areas of improvement and we make sound investments in new equipment, technology and training to assist with this.

It is integral that everyone on site understands and acknowledges the importance of safety at work as well as integrating safety into our everyday lives. Our Safety Management System, which all employees and contractors are informed on, ensures a safe workplace at all times.
Environment and community
We believe Sheridan’s Hard Rock Quarry is an asset to the local community not only due to the products and services we provide but also by providing employment and training opportunities within the local community and engaging a number of local contractors. We appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of our surrounding environment and community and hence work hard to ensure our impacts to the environment and neighbouring residences are minimal.
We work hard to minimise any environmental or social impact from our current or future activities through the use of integrated environmental management plans. We regularly review our environmental policy and continue to develop, implement and maintain our environmental management system to ensure continuous improvement and ultimately best practice community and environmental management.
We acknowledge that consideration of our community and the environment is critical to our business and we will continue to develop and deliver environmental awareness training to our employees and contractors. We are also committed to ongoing consultation with our local community and key stakeholders to ensure a transparent and honest relationship.
